Veterans League
A quick selection of prime fixtures in the top two divisons of the 10-Man League.

Rastrick had a tough start to the Division 1 new season last week when going down 0-9 away to Longwood and things don't get any easier for them this Tuesday. They have to play the reigning Champions Lowerhouses although they do have home advantage. Last season they lost both matches to the eventual Champions so anything less would be a surprise and most welcome.
Another team with a disastrous start to the new season were Cowcliffe. After finishing last season in 4th position they were hoping to push on and produce a real threat to the top three but an opening day 1-8 home defeat to Golcar Lib A was a big upset. They travel to Meltham this Tuesday and are back in the top division and were not disgraced in a 2-7 home defeat by Lowerhouses last week. They are always strong at home so will hope to maintain that superiority in their second fixture of the new season.

I tipped the two Elland teams to fill the promotion places in Division 2 and they confirmed that status when both won their opening fixtures last week. Impressively both were playing away last week so both have home advantage this Tuesday. However both have to face two other teams who also won their opening fixtures as the C&BC take on Denby Dale whilst the WMC have third-placed Shepley as opponents.
New Mill A sit second in the early table after a good 7-2 home win over Milnsbridge A last week and will expect to pick up the majority of points again this week as they visit Broad Oak A who lost out 2-7 to Shepley last Tuesday.
