1992: Lockwood Cons dominate Pairs KO

Memories: July 1992

There were three pairs from Lockwwod Cons to reach Finals Day of the 1992 Conservative League's Eric Wike Pairs competition and two of those pairs reached the final.

Report from the Huddersfield Examiner, July 1992

Ian Burgin, who recently won the Hill Supplies Yorkshire Handicap, continued his winning run at Moldgreen - but this time he needed a partner.

The Lockwood Conservative player and his club colleague, John Rushworth, won three games on Finals Day to come out tops in the Conservative League's Eric Wike Pairs Trophy and share a £100 cheque for their efforts. Their winning day in the Jansen Motors sponsored competition was completed with a 21-17 success over another Lockwood Cons partnership - that of Mick Fisher and Mick Cox.
