£200k Fund from Toyota for sports clubs

Bowling News

If your bowling club really considers itself to be an important cog in the local community wheel then this should be of interest to you. A £200,000 donation from Toyota is earmarked to help sporting clubs provide improved or new facilities for disabled people.

In order to support disabled people to return to sport or activity as and when Coronavirus restrictions allow, Sport England, in partnership with Toyota and the British Paralympic Association have launched a new round of their Toyota Parasport Fund.

£200,000 in funding will be available to help registered charities, voluntary or community clubs, and other not-for-profit organisations to support disabled adults and young people aged five or over to return to previously run activities, or to enable previous projects to adapt to resume delivery when the relaxing of coronavirus restrictions allow them to do so.

Funding of between £1,000 and £5,000 could be used for additional sports equipment, signage, sanitation stations, training courses or additional coaches and instructors etc.

The scheme opened on 11 May 2021 and the deadline for applications is 5pm on the 31st May 2021.

Have you thought about including the £130 cost of training a club member or two up to become a qualified coach in this bid? Yorkshire CCGBA cannot provide such a service at present which makes this a potential valid bid to fill that gap.
