HuddWeb is the website for the Huddersfield Winter League and the unofficial website for the Veterans League as well as being for news from all Huddersfield crown green bowling clubs.
The 2024 BCGBA Men's Merit will be held this coming Saturday at Pennfields BC, in Staffordshire. There are 9 Yorkshire representatives in the final 32 bowlers including the 2018 winner Chris Mordue.
Jonny Sneddon (of Thongsbridge) is the reigning SOUTH YORKSHIRE merit holder. And to answer Philip's Q, the Senior Merit (All England to many) was never really a televised event given it's format of a one day (2 green) 64 runner event.
The Waterloo, CofC, Bass Masters and many other events got airtime back in the halcyon days when Crown Green was a cheap option for TV filler.
In more recent times, it was streamed with permission by BCGBA (Not a cheap option to do it well) and there is coverage of the last two Yorkshire winners (Ashley Daykin 2014 and Chris Mordue 2018)All England 2014
