In November the BCGBA announced their plans to revitalise their two Champion-of-Champions competitions and canvassed competitions to put forward reasons why they should become automatic feeder competitions with a gateway through to the end of season BCGBA events. The Men's and Ladies events being played over a weekend at Owley Wood Recreation Centre in September.
Among the feeder competitions are the Yorkshire Merit, Linthwaite Classic, Elland WMC Classic, Cowcliffe Classic, Marsh United Bowling Club, Hillcrest Classic, Brighouse Classic, Pudsey Classic, Cleckheaton Classic, Richmond Classic and the Weston Park Trophy,
An update from the BCGBA on these plans included the intent to enlarge their Champion-of-Champions event from 32 to 64 bowlers in the men's competition. This they have now done and recently announced all the 64 feeder competitions guaranteed a place for the winner in the flagship end-of-season BCGBA event.
