Bowling News
You may recall the fanfare when the BCGBA invited all bowlers to complete an online survey of their impressions of the BCGBA. We provided the background and links to this survey.
At that time the BCGBA promised to share the results of that survey. This first batch of answers has now been provided in a 3-picture form below. The first picture shows the percentage of completed responses by each of the 16 county areas. It seems that Yorkshire provided 25% of the total number of survey responses.
The second picture below shows that the survey indicated three areas of poor performance by the BCGBA in raising the awareness of bowling. These covered Development, Communications and Club Support. The third picture highlights the role of the BCGBA in three areas with Funding and Greenkeeping both seen as essential by the survey responders.
Lets hope that there are more results still to be shared and they come with a commentary of what they really mean and more importantly what plans the BCGBA has for responding to the results of the survey.
Over 2,000 responses to the survey were received. Another survey will be undertaken in the next few weeks. This follow-up survey will focus around a few key findings, and will enable you to give more detailed thoughts and suggestions. As soon as we become aware of it we will be posting on HuddWeb ready for your participation.
Apart from Yorkshire with a 25% response , the remaining responses from all other areas was very poor. The BCGBA would be justified asking why are we bothered to ask for views when the response is so poor.
There’s always 2 sides to the coin- could it be that bowlers have become so disenchanted with the BCGBA that they think it’s a waste of time?
