Preview of the Division 8 matches to be played on 19 November at Lockwood Con

The top-of-the-table clashes keep coming fast and it is the turn of the Division 8 teams to experience that this Tuesday. Golcar C&BC's winning run will come under serious examination by second-placed Cowcliffe C at Lockwood Con.

The Gocar side have had a great start to their third season in the League and are in unprecedented territory at the top of the table winning all five fixtures to date but their biggest test to date awaits them this week. The new Cowcliffe C team head the chasing pack of four teams separated by 6 points and determined to make inroads into that lead or sort out the destiny of the second promotion place.

Two of that pack of four meet up this week when third-placed Lockwood Con C look to use home advantage to good effect when playing Broad Oak B. The League's draw specialists, Holmfirth (3 out of 5 drawn) face bottom of the table Kirkheaton C&BC B but with only 2 points between them things could quickly change. Holmfirth have drawn their last two fixtures which have been against top three opponents so are in good form but the Kirkheaton side have also drawn their last two matches so it looks like a banker draw is on the cards.

Mirfield B have only lost once this season and that was against the table-toppers so will relish taking on strugglers, Linthwaite Hall B, who are looking to add a second win to go with their opening day success.
