Brockholes surge away at top of Division 3 table

Winter League

A review of the Division 3 matches played at Thorpe Green on Monday 31 October

Brockholes 'A' extended their lead at the top of the Division 3 table to 5 points after a 6-2 win over Almondbury BC 'A' and a marathon pairs game.

That was coupled with a shock defeat for Thorpe Green 'B' at the hands of Paddock I&C 'A' who were winning for the first time this season with a 6-2 scoreline. Rastrick 'B' also won for the first time and by the same 6-2 scoreline as they overcame Dalton 6-2 which saw them lift 3 places to fourth.

Springwood 'B' lost 0-8 to Huddersfield Recreation Club and drop 3 places to bottom spot as a result. So big moves both up and down as things don't look like settling down anytime soon.

That first win of the campaign for the Paddock I&C 'A' team means that all eight of the Division 3 teams have now won at least once this season.

The longest game of the season was played out over 27 ends in the Pairs game between Almondbury BC 'A' and Brockholes 'A'. First off with the 11.30am start time and only finishing at exactly 1.00pm to make it the longest game of the season to date (unless you tell me otherwise). The game scorecard alongside tells the full story with 22 of those 27 ends being responsible for a one-point addition each time which was a major contribution to the long playing time.

Four team photos and more action photos to follow.
