Veterans League
Carl Burgess was presented with his 90th certificate by Veterans League President Richard Armitage last Tuesday as his Huddersfield Recreation Club team played Thongsbridge B in a 10-Man League Division 3 fixture. The award is made to all club bowlers upon passing their 90th birthday and still an active bowler in the League. Well Carl is certainly doing that as he has won half of his pairs matches this season.
Team captain Bob Haigh sent me the photo above and added 'The sun shone, we had cake and won the game, so a good afternoon all round.' The photo shows both teams gathering round to help celebrate a wonderful achievement.
