The Winter League fixture programme has been devastated over the past week but now it is time to start the catch-up process and three divisions begin chipping away at that backlog this coming week by playing two rounds of matches over the coming 5 days.
Teams in Divisions 6, 7 and 8 all play two rounds of fixtures next week and more can be expected over the coming weeks. It is an especially busy week for some Division 6 bowlers as they have two rounds of teams League fixtures lined up and then on Friday it is the Pairs KO Qualifying Round for Division 6 bowlers at Thorpe Green.
One set of newly rearranged fixtures is the Division 3 matches postponed last Wednesday (8 January) have now been rearranged for Wednesday 5 February which is the last day of the Winter League season at Springwood.
This latest round of postponements has taken the number of matches postponed this season to 68 which is the most we have ever lost in the previous four years of existence. We lost 36 matches to the weather during November and this post-Christmas episode has cost us another 32 fixtures. Bowlsnet has been updated to include all the postponements and rearranged dates where known.
