Another Saturday competition for Grange Moor bowlers on a gloriously sunny day and good support for two competitions on the same day. There were 23 entrants for the Grange Moor Merit which saw Darren Hardcastle come through to beat Paul Messenger in the final 15-11. All rounds after the opening round were 15-up. The format ensured that all entrants played at least two games on the day achieving the major objective of getting members bowling again.
The 15 bowlers knocked out in the first two rounds of the Merit went into a supplementary KO competition which eventually saw Harrison Messenger triumph 15-8 over Graham Shaw in the final. The two winners can be seen holding their trophies with the Merit finalists in the first photo and the KO finalists in the lower one. There is also a copy of all the results from the Merit below. Six hours of sunshine and bowling - it feels good to be back.
