Review of the Thursday Division 7 fixtures played at Lockwood Park
Cowcliffe B's hold on the Division 7 title race gets firmer and firmer and an 8-0 win over Lockwood Con B whilst their closest rivals, Huddersfield RUFC, were falling to a third consecutive defeat sees the gap extend to 14 points. Lockwood Con B were on the wrong end of that 0-8 scoreline against the leaders and are still looking for their first win of the season.
The RUFC defeat was against Kirkheaton Con B who continue to stalk their rivals and they now sit 6 points behind them and the lure of the second promotion place looms larger and larger. Broad Oak A and Meltham B are vying to stay away from the second relegation place and an 8-0 victory by the Meltham side over the biggest threat to their survival has probably sealed their continuing involvement in this division for next season and condemning the Broad Oak team to relegation.
The match between two mid-table teams from Hanging Heaton B and Marsh Lib started out with two teams on level points and after all the bowling they were still locked together on the same points total. A 4-4 draw with a 55-54 aggregate finale allowed the Hanging Heaton team to recover from losing two of the three games to share the spoils which probably did no good or no harm to either team's promotion or relegation hopes/fears.
