Jack Dyson is the 11/10 bookies' favourite to win the 2024 Crosland Moor and claim a hat-trick of wins in this competition. There is a 7.00pm start time with practice from 6.30pm.
The Final – Friday 30th August
Simon Coupe (Preston) 7/2
21-14 Stuart Hodson (Lancashire)
21-9 Nicky White (Thongsbridge)
21-11 Craig Hopwood (Crossgates)
The reigning champion looks to defend his crown and make it 3 wins in the past 4 years, but he’ll have to come through a helluva field to do so. A proven winner across the country stands in his way in Gareth Coates and a pick-em 4/5 match-up shows what a top contest we’re in for.
Gareth Coates (Halifax) 4/1
21-13 Neil Slattery (Kirkheaton)
21-9 Tom Marsland (Dodworth)
21-10 Neil Bithell (Lancashire)
Gareth has had a stellar year picking up the Yorkshire Merit alongside many other events throughout the season and will be eyeing the Moor comp as another one for his growing collection.
Graeme WILSON (Audenshaw) 8/1
21-13 James McNeil (Kirkheaton)
21-18 Aaron Harrison (Blackburn)
21-18 Harrison Messenger (Kirkheaton)
I’m sure Graeme will probably agree he didn’t play his vintage best to qualify, but it’s a sign of the class act Graeme is that he still made it through with a little to spare. 8/1 is a huge price for Graeme, so will no doubt have his backers but also reflects the size of the task in hand.
Ryan Clark (Sheffield) 7/2
21-10 Danny Teale (Kirkheaton)
21-7 Chris Mordue (Pudsey)
21-20 Ashley Tattersley (Lower Hopton)
Ryan booked his spot with a nerve wracking 21-20 win to qualify, following top wins in his opening games. He’s another player in fantastic form having enjoyed a great season and will fancy the job of taking home another Huddersfield title to add to his Lindley win from last month.
Jack Dyson (Thongsbridge) 11/10
21-17 Chris Davies (Kirkheaton)
21-9 Michael Heap (Lancashire)
21-10 Stuart King (Pudsey)
The two-time previous winner opens up as the bookies favourite with green knowledge and the favoured side of the draw in front of him. Can he bounce-back after a stinging few days for Thongsbridge and become the first triple winner of the event?
Josh Talbot(Dodworth) 16/1
21-17 Martin Greenall (Clayton West)
21-16 Finley Hickey (Lower Hopton)
21-19 Ryan Tiler (Keighley)
First time qualifier Josh will be out to prove his credentials and one-up his close friends Barry and Tom who have both been Runner-up in recent years. Can Josh go one better and take the title back to South Yorkshire for the first time? 16/1 says otherwise, but a strong vocal backing will be cheering him on all the way.
Daniel Golpin (Derbyshire) 14/1
21-19 Barry Holland (Penistone)
21-20 Robert Hitchen (Lower Hopton)
21-17 Josh Mordue (Pudsey BC)
Dan was impressive to say the least in qualifying, enjoying his first visit to the Moor with quality wins to book his maiden final spot at the first time of asking. A stiff game with Flicker come finals nights, but will go close if he repeats his qualifying form.
Graham Hickey (Lower Hopton) 6/1
21-18 Liam Griffin (Crossgates)
21-11 Craig Gant (Thongsbridge)
21-10 Gaz Lally (Crossgates)
A steady night’s work for Flicker in qualifying as he came through the stiffest of cards to book his place in back-to-back finals at the Moor, showing his love for the green. His knowledge and experience on the green will give him an edge in his Quarter Final, and will have his eye on going much further.
