Denby Dale hang on to title hopes

Winter League

Review of the Division 3 fixtures played on Wednesday 18 December at Springwood BC

Denby Dale drew 4-4 on Wednesday with 4th-placed Brockholes A which means that they have only won one of their last four fixtures. Hardly the form of Champions but the end of season may come soon enough to save them from any embarrassing collapse. Only three January matches left to play and an 11 points lead to protect.

New Mill B stormed into promotion contention with a great 8-0 win over 2nd-placed Lowerhouses B which put them just one-point behind their rivals.

Springwood B gave themselves a lifeline with a 6-2 win over relegation rivals Thorpe Green C and they are both in a group of four from which the two relegation teams are likely to come. The other two bottom-four teams are Huddersfield Recreation Club A and Lockwood Con A and the two sides met on Wednesday. A 6-2 win for Lockwood Con A gave them the edge among the four teams in the drop zone with any 2 from 4 the potential outcome.
