Memories
A Charity Bowling match was staged in 1991 at Moldgreen Cons featuring 3 Slags v 3 Gentlemen bowlers. Last week we challenged you to name all six. Some did. All entries correctly identified Moldgreen Cons as the venue for this unique event.
The top photo is of Garry Senior complete with bra and suspenders preparing for his big coming out day! The second photo down shows all six bowlers and reveals their identities as well.
The competition consisted of each bowler aiming for a bottle standing on the green's crown. The nearest wood to the bottle without knocking it over won. There is no record of the outcome of the match.
The 6 bowlers are (left to right): Sean Metcalf, Dougie Mellor, Mark Shaw, Bill Blackburn (a late substitute for Paul Marshall), Chris Squires and Garry Senior.
