Division 3 unbeaten records go head-to-head

Veterans League

A preview of the Divisions 3,4&5 fixtures in the 10-Man League for Tuesday 16 May

The top two teams in Division 3 both boast the division's only 100% win records but all that is about to change for one of them. This Tuesday the leaders Denby Dale play second-placed Brockholes A who are 3 points behind the pace-setters. In addition we have a 3rd v 4th confrontation as Elland WMC take a break from the impressive KO competition achievements to host a Hemplow team that has only won one of their four fixtures but still sit in 4th position ahead of five teams that have better win records than them. To complete the top end of the table focus there is a 5th v 6th battle with Outlane and Slaithwaite on the same 18 points total and meeting up this week.

Thorpe Green desperately need a win to halt the slide down the divisions which could lead to a second consecutive relegation and a first win of the season is well overdue. A home win over Skel Windmill A would be a welcome outcome and would send out the shockwaves to the four teams above them who have their own four-team contest this Tuesday.

The three top teams in Division 4 are all on 25 points and are only separated by their 'Aggregate For' totals. They are kept apart from each other this week with the leaders, Kirkheaton C&BC A, having the only home match and all play bottom five opponents. The Cricket Club welcome Meltham B whilst Marsh United B and Milnsbridge B go to Huddersfield Recreation Club and Brockholes B respectively.

The bottom two teams go head-to-head this Tuesday with the Rugby Club having home advantage over their foot-of-the-table rivals, Lindley BC B, and that 7 points gap could be even wider come Tuesday evening.

The only unbeaten record in Division 5 belongs to Netherton Con B and is the reason they are three points clear at the top of the table with an away fixture at Broad Oak B this week. The teams in 2nd and 3rd positions go up against each other at Kirkheaton Con where the club's B side take on David Brown Sports.

Six points separate the next 9 teams with each fixture being worth double points as the teams settle down into some sort of pecking order. With each team looking capable of beating each other, especially with home green advantage,e making Hemplow B, Primrose Hill Lib and Dalton likely winners. That theory may not apply to the Almondbury BC B side's home fixture against 5th in the table New Mill B but you never really know.
