Division 5 teams dominate Sub-Team KO

Veterans League

The Quarter-Finals of the Sub-Team KO were completed last Thursday with two teams from Division 5 and one each from Divisions 3 and 4 progressing to the Semi-Finals to be played on Thursday 15 August. The two Division 5 sides have been kept apart in the Semi-Finals so we could see the unusual situation of a Division 5 winner of this competition but there is a lot of bowling to happen before we can contemplate that scenario.

The one Quarter-Final tie that didn't sit well with the league positions was Division 5 side Dalton beating Division 3 Springwood and they will now meet another Division 3 team in the Semi-Finals when confronting Lindley Lib B. The Lindley side beat another Division 5 outfit in New Mill B to progress.

Marsh Lib are the sole Division 4 representative left in the competition after being involved in the closest Quarter-Final tie when edging it past Ravensknowle Park 138-126. They will take on Division 5 high-fliers Netherton Con B in the other Semi-Final after beating Primrose Hill Lib.

The Sub-Team Knock-Out is for teams outside the top 32 finishers from the previous seasons final 10-Man League tables. Matches are the same 4 Singles and 3 Pairs format as in League matches but the aggregate scores determine the winners. Most games won only comes into play if the aggregate scores are level.
