Review of the Division 6 last day of the season matches played on Thursday at Netherton Con
Almondbury BC B confirmed their status as the Division 6 Champions with a final day 8-0 win over Mirfield A to take their season haul of points to exactly 100. Scroll down for a last day review and a collection of 19 action photos.
The League season may have finished for the Division 6 teams but there will still be some action next Thursday as the Division 6 Qualifying Round of the Winter Cup will be staged with an 11.00am start time.
Almondbury BC B are the 2024-25 Division 6 Champions. With 13 wins, 9 of them by the ultimate 8-0 score, typified their season and the only blemish on their 100% win record was a 4-4 draw with Mirfield A at the end of November. Their eventual points total extended into three figures and a lead of 32 points over second-placed Mirfield A. Individually they have delivered as well with three bowlers in the final Top 10 Bowler table (below) and also providing the top two bowlers in the Division.
Going up with them are Mirfield A despite losing that last day match by 0-8 to Almondbury BC B. Two more points to Springwood in their final day fixture against the Recreation Club would have seen their placings reversed based on a better Aggregate Difference total in Springwood's advantage.
It was even closer at the foot of the table where Netherton Con B finished in the bottom two on the Aggregate Difference scoring which left the Huddersfield Recreation Club B thankful for the two points from their last day match to keep them out of the relegation places. However the League's 'avoid relegation' rule for hosting teams may change all that.

A grand collection of 19 photographs taken at Netherton Cons last Thursday for the final round of fixtures in the Division 6 season. These include one of the Netherton Con catering team who have served their club admirably over the winter season. The teams showed their appreciation of their help over the past 4 months by having a whip-round to pass on to the ladies team.
