Review of the Division 5 matches played at Lindley Lib on Wednesday 11 December
A thrashing for the leaders, two 8-0 whitewash wins and the rare 5-3 scoreline sums up another Wednesday in Division 5 bowling at Lindley Lib. Lets start at the top where the long-time leaders, Lindley Lib C, lost for the first time this season. That 8-0 win for Milnsbridge C pushes them into the promotion race as one of three teams within 2 points of each other jockeying for the second promotion place as things are warming up as the scent of promotion gets into the nostrils of the main contenders. It could be even warmer next Wednesday when the form team of Milnsbridge C take on second-placed Jackson Bridge which could sort things out even more, or maybe not.
Jackson Bridge and Elland WMC being the other two rivals and they both won as well this week. Jackson Bridge beating Paddock I&C 6-2 and Elland having a whitewash win over relegation-doomed Almondbury BC A. A 53-53 aggregate draw led to the rare 5-3 scoreline which saw Kirkheaton C&BC A see off Springwood A who remain firmly shackled to bottom spot.
