Veterans League
Preview of the Veterans 6-Man League fixtures scheduled for Monday 26 August
The top four teams in Division 1 all have home matches this week which they will expect to win. Shepley A have the toughest-looking task when 5th placed Slaithwaite come to visit as they are on a 6-match unbeaten run.
Table-toppers Marsh United A have lowly Crosland Moor as visitors and Skel Windmill A have a Paddock I&C team to play that has only one win in their last 8 matches and Waterloo will be looking to complete a double over Netherton Con.
The Division 2 top team will be pleased to see that the 2nd and 3rd placed teams play each other when Bradley & Colne host Holmfirth A. Clayton West are the leaders and they welcome bottom three strugglers Linthwaite Hall who are in the relegation mix at the foot of the table. They compete with Greenhead Park, Hemplow and Milnsbridge B to avoid the 2nd relegation place but the dropzone will welcome one of those four teams come the end of the season.
Marsh Lib A and New Mill remain serious contenders for the 2nd promotion place but cannot take their foot off the peddle as they take on Almondbury Lib and Longwood respectively.
Brockholes are moving away from the other promotion contenders and now hold a 16-points lead at the top of the Division 3 table. This week they take on Meltham who are in a group of 5 teams separated by four points and all out of reach of the bottom team Shepley B.
