Last Division 1 unbeaten record to be tested

Winter League Preview of the Division 1 matches to be played at Milnsbridge this Wednesday

Lower Hopton lead the Division 1 table after three matches with the only unbeaten record among the top-tier teams. The latest challenge to that record comes this Wednesday from New Mill A who showed their capabilities when beating these same opponents last season. A 6-2 win then followed an earlier 0-8 loss but they were one of only three teams to disrupt Lower Hopton's winning sequence last year. Time moves on but both teams will expect a top three finish as a minimum return on their season's efforts once again.

Reigning Champions Thorpe Green got back on the winning track last week after a faltering start to the defence of the title. That form will be tested this week by Lindley BC A who lost top spot after being beaten for the first time last week. Last season Lindley BC A were the first team to beat Thorpe Green and that was in a November fixture and the Champions know that this will be a good test of their progress this season.

Kirkheaton Con A sit in third place and have a Wednesday fixture against the struggling Lindley Lib A team who remain the only team without a win this season to date. Cowcliffe A have already lost more matches this season than they did in the whole of the 16-match 2023-24 season when they were the runaway winners of the Division 2 title . They will be looking to address that balance with a match against fellow strugglers Meltham A this week.
