Winter League
This Friday (31 January) sees the final two divisions playing their Qualifying Rounds to the new Pairs KO competition. They will be played at Thorpe Green BC from 11.00am but entrants are asked to be there for 10.45am so that the draw may be completed allowing ample time for a prompt 11.00am start time. These final two rounds cover bowlers in Divisions 2 and 8.
Two bowlers from each of the two divisions will progress through to the Last 16. Matches in the qualifying rounds are of 15 ends or 21 up whichever comes first. Bowlers must have played a minimum of two league matches to be eligible to enter. Entry fee of £3 per bowler.
If you are interested in entering the competition please be aware that the later stages will be played on Friday 14 February (Round of the Last 16 and bowling down to 4) and then Finals Day is on Friday 21 February when the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be played out to produce the first ever winners of the Robert Hitchen Cup so kindly sponsored by Elland WMC.
As the number of entries from Divisions 2 and 8 are the two lowest of all eight divisions it has been decided that both sets of bowlers will play at the same time. Although we have had 80 entries (160 bowlers) only 7 of those are from Division 2 and only 5 from Division 8. There is still time for more entries to join us but the deadline is 5pm on Thursday (30 January) and your online entry form is at the foot of this posting. Below is a list of all the entries to date.
