Wednesday saw the quarter-finals of the Bistro Knock-Out completed with only one modest and not totally unexpected surprise result. That came with Division 3 top four team Slaithwaite knocking out bottom half of Division 2 team Almondbury BC A by 112-103. So even without the 7 points handicap advantage the Slaithwaite team would have progressed to the semi-finals.
The Lindley derby tie went the way of the A side with a 112-106 aggregate result although the 3-2 game count showed how close the result really was. The winners will meet Longwood in the semi-finals after they beat Shepley 96-88 and the other Division 1 side, Kirkheaton Con A, stay in contention after a 92-85 win over a gallant Brockholes A team who were in front at the halfway stage of the match.
The semi-finals are to be held on Friday 16 August with the neutral greens still to be allocated.
