Preview of the Quarter-Finals of the Bistro KO to be played on Tuesday 23 July
There are just two Division 1 teams left in the 2024 Bistro KO competition as it reaches the Quarter-Finals stage. Those two survivors are Kirkheaton Con A and Longwood who are in different halves of the draw. Kirkheaton Con have to concede a 20-point start to Division 3 team Brockholes A whilst Longwood have a 4-point deficit to recover against Division 2 side Shepley.
The two Lindley Lib teams confront each other on their home green which is a sensible arrangement. Which of the teams will be most favoured by that venue remains to be seen but the A team have won all 6 of their home league Division 2 fixtures to date whilst the B side have won 5 out of 6 of their Division 3 fixtures. Will a 13-points handicap start be sufficient for the B team to cause an upset? Whatever happens there will be a Lindley Lib team in the semi-finals.
The Slaithwaite v Almondbury BC A tie completes the Tuesday programme. Neither team are involved in promotion or relegation matters in their respective divisions so plenty to play for from both teams. Slaithwaite are 4th in Division 3 but well adrift of the promotion battle and they have a 7-point start on Division 2 mid-table team Almondbury BC A.
The Bistro is a 5-Pairs format competition with the aggregate scores determining the winners. Only in the event of a drawn aggregate scoreline does the game count come into play.
