Winter League
Review of the Division 4 matches played at Primrose Hill Lib on Monday 11 November
A blue sky with welcome sunshine greeted the Division 4 teams to Primrose Hill Lib on Monday for another round of fixtures, resulting in changes at both ends of the table.
The top-of-the-table clash between Linthwaite Hall A and Slaithwaite went the way of the Linfit team who replaced Slaithwaite in top spot and condemned them to a drop down to 4th position. That shows how tight it is at the top with just 4 points separating the top four teams. To add to that it should be said that there is only a 12-point gap between the leaders and bottom spot which is the narrowest such margin in any of the eight divisions in the Winter League.
Primrose Hill Lib and Rastrick both passed Slaithwaite with the Pip Hill team's 8-0 win over Netherton Con A enabling them to claim the second promotion place at present. Rastrick go third after seeing off Dalton by 6-2.
Milnsbridge B had a good day as an 8-0 whitewash win over Thorpe Green B team saw them record a first win of the season, come off the foot of the table and right out of the relegation places. That result saw The Thorpe Green team drop to the foot with Netherton Con A also in trouble. However, as is said above there are only 12 points between all the teams so one good win can change a team's fortunes instantly.
