Review of the Tuesday results in Divisions 1 & 2 of the 10-Man League

A perfectly symetrical Division 4 table of 4 unbeaten teams, 4 teams still looking for their first wins and 4 teams that have won-one lost-one. Longwood currently head the table with a 6-3 away win at Lockwood Con A sufficient for them to do so.
Golcar Lib A have, by their own standards, been off the pace for the past two seasons but they may well have addressed that matter judging by their opening two wins of the new season. A 6-3 home win over Marsh United A coupled with their impressive opening day 8-1 away win at Cowcliffe signals a change in approach. That setback seems to have spurred the Cowcliffe team on to an immediate response as they won 7-2 away at Meltham this week.
The biggest winners of the day being Kirkheaton Con A who had an 8-1 home success over Waterloo who sit at the foot of the table for now. Clayton West have also started quicker than most teams and added a 7-2 home win over Lindley Lib A to their opening day away success and move into third place.
Rastrick undoubtedly had the most difficult opening two rounds of fixtures of any team in the division as they had to face the top two teams from last season. A 0-9 away defeat at Longwood on the opening day was sweetened by a 7-2 home win this week over the reigning Champions, Lowerhouses.

Six home winners in Division 2 this week including the two Elland teams that continue to set the pace at the top of the table. A whitewash 9-0 home win for Elland C&BC over Denby Dale puts them ahead of Elland WMC for now. Elland WMC confirmed their 2nd place status with a 9-0 home win over Shepley. The two leaders are the only two unbeaten teams left in the Division and are setting a great pace at the front of the pack. A trio of teams on 10 points are in their wing mirrors who all recorded home wins this week. Probably the most impressive of the three being Milnsbridge A who saw off previous winners Golcar Lib B by 8-1 with a 145-101 aggregate advantage.
Broad Oak A are in that trio and they also beat a previous winner in New Mill A by an 8-1 scoreline with Almondbury BC A making up that trio after a 6-3 home win over Lindley BC A who have made the worse possible start to their campaign to bid for an immediate return to the top division after their relegation last season. The other relegated team was Netherton Con A who had a better week with a 6-3 home win over Thongsbridge A to push themselves into the top half of the week 2 table.
