Preview of the 10-Man League Divisions 1 & 2 fixtures for Tuesday 30 July
The top five teams in Division 1 of the 10-Man League all have away fixtures this Tuesday with the leaders, Lowerhouses, having the easist looking encounter at bottom of the table, Netherton Con. The leaders have only lost one match all season and that was on the first day of the season whilst the Netherton side have only one win this year and that was away from home.
Whatever happens Lowerhouses will stay at the top of the table as their 10-points lead ensures that outcome. Second-placed Marsh United A are aiming to complete a league double over Lockwood Con A whilst Longwood will be looking to avenge a 2-7 reversal at Lindley BC A back in April. Waterloo and Cowcliffe will be aiming to complete league doubles over Golcar Lib A and Kirkheaton Con A respectively.
Clayton West need to win their home match with Rastrick to stand a chance of being lifted out of the relegation places with plenty of teams within range of a good home win including Rastrick. However the Rastrick team are on a run of three straight wins and will be a formidable opponent.
The top three teams in Division 2 all have home fixtures this week with the leaders, Meltham A, looking to extend their 19-points lead over second placed Lindley Lib A. It could be a good day for the Lindley team as they line-up against bottom half team Almondbury BC A (who beat them earlier in the season) and on a run of 5 straight wins although their visitors have won 4 out of their last 5. With the teams in 3rd and 4th places meeting up at Elland C&BC where Thongsbridge A are the visitors, the gap to the promotion places could have widened by Tuesday tea-time.
At the other end of the table things are starting to look difficult for the bottom two teams who face each other this week. Almondbury Lib have home advantage over Broad Oak A. The Almondbury team have lost their last 6 matches whilst Broad Oak have one win in eight and are 9 points adrift of safety.
Linthwaite Hall and Golcar Lib B could both get dragged into the relegation fight with both having away fixtures this Tuesday. New Mill A are in the middle of a 3-match run against bottom four opponents with the first leg of that sequence producing an away win at Golcar Lib B. Following up that with a home match against Linthwaite Hall this week. Golcar Lib B will be looking to bounce back from last week's defeat when they go to play Milnsbridge A who have only won one of their last 5 matches.
