Marsh United A are 6-Man League Champions

Veterans League

Marsh United A got the two points and more that they needed to seal a second consecutive 6-Man League Division 1 title when they won 6-1 away at Slaithwaite in the delayed key match on Tuesday. That pushed Waterloo into 2nd place which is a promising first season in the League for the new boys. It is not too late to add a team photograph to this page so that everyone can see who is in the Champions team. Send it to me now

A rain delayed 6-1 away win for Marsh Lib in Division 2 fell just short of the 7 points they needed to go level on points with New Mill who occupied the second promotion place in Division 2. Even that would have seen them fall short of the 'Aggregate For' total required to pass the New Mill side that completed a 13-match unbeaten run to justifiably take the second promotion spot. The 'Aggregate For' totals being 2410-2382 in New Mill's favour put that target out of reach for Marsh Lib despite their best effort.

At the foot of the Division 2 table the outstanding fixture between Linthwaite Hall and Holmfirth A was also played yesterday and went 5-2 to the home team which was sufficient to see them to safety by passing and relegating Hemplow.

Two more 6-Man League matches remain outstanding but neither can impact on matters at either end of their respective divisions. Golcar Lib host Elland C&BC this afternoon in a Division 2 encounter whilst on Monday (7 Oct) in Division 1 already relegated Paddock I&C are at home to mid-table Milnsbridge BC B.
