National Lottery funds bowling clubs

Bowling News

The National Lottery Community Fund awards grants to many deserving organisations including bowling clubs. Sport clubs get a fair share of the £686million that they allocated last year. The application process is generally regarded as being much easier to negotiate than other such rich sources of funds like Sport England.

The National Lottery has 10 official organisations that manage and award their funds to deserving causes. One of those 10 is the National Lottery Community Fund. Last year it awarded £686million to good causes including sporting organisations like bowling clubs. Carlton (Barnsley) bowling club for example received £10,000 for a new mower.

You will not get a grant to cover regular outgoings such as paying a greenkeeper but there are many schemes which will give you a lot of money for some one-off expenditure as long as you can point it towards complying with some of their rules and meeting their investment criteria which, with a bit of effort, you should be able to do.

The National Lottery is one of the largest providers of funds for good causes including bowling clubs. The National Lottery Community Fund can offer grants to support your development projects and seem to have a more straightforward application process than Sport England. As an awarding body, like most of the others, they want to see that your project will benefit your local communities - so do your research before you apply.

Here's some details of a few of their funds (there's lots more) that are definitely worth looking at for your projects:
