A new government grant available to all sports and leisure businesses of up to £6,000 will be available in the New Year to compensate for an expected reduction in business expected from December 2021 to March 2022.
The government announced the additional financial support on 21 December on the gov.uk website ....
To support other businesses impacted by Omicron – such as those who supply the hospitality and leisure sectors – the government is also giving a more than £100 million boost to the Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) fund for local authorities in England.
The Additional Restrictions Grant has previously provided grants totalling over £20,000 in 2020 and 2021 to each sports club with its own premises so excluding park-based bowling clubs.
Clubs will need to make a new application for this grant which is likely to total about £2,700 to most clubs and this will be, as before, distributed through Kirklees MC. Full details are to be released in the new year and we will be reporting that update on these pages as soon as we hear the details.
