Preview of Tuesday's fixtures in Divisions 3, 4 & 5 of the 10-Man League
Things are getting very tight and interesting at the top of the Division 3 table with the top two, Elland WMC and Denby Dale, locked together on 84 points with the Aggregate For totals (1740-1682) separating them. That puts them 12 points ahead of Brockholes A who have a match in hand over both of them and are the only home team this week from that top trio. They will expect, and need, a big win against relegation-threatened Thorpe Green to retain their interest in a promotion place.
Neither of the top two can approach their away Tuesday fixtures with any degree of confidence. The Elland side travel to play Lindley Lib B who have won their last three matches and have only had their home record breached by Denby Dale this season. Denby Dale go to Holmfirth A who have only been beaten once at home all season (by Slaithwaite) and in their last home match beat Elland WMC.
The Marsh derby encounter in Division 4 puts the Liberal Club at home to the United B team who lead the table at present. That is just a one-point lead over Lockwood Con B who host Brockholes B with 3rd placed Milnsbridge B tucked in behind the top two with all three only separated by a single point. The Milnsbridge side are at home to play Huddersfield Recreation Club.
There is a top versus 3rd clash in Division 5 as the leaders, Netherton Con are at home to Dalton. Both teams have won 3 of their last 4 matches but the Dalton good form stretches back further and they have only suffered one defeat in their last 9 fixtures. david Brown Sports are wedged between those two teams and they also have a top-four encounter as they welcome Primrose Hill Lib to their Crosland Moor home green.
