Not a good day for Lindley Liberal Club as both their 6-Man League teams were eliminated from the Julie Fuller Trophy this week. The 'B' side lost to Lockwood Con 67-26 and their Division 1 'A' team was overwhelmed by Division 2 leaders and current holders of this title, Slaithwaite, 71-34. The only all-Division 1 tie saw leaders Shepley 'A' dispose of Linthwaite Hall by 63-24. Not sure how Linthwaite Hall were put in the top division instead of Slaithwaite who have now beaten four Division 1 sides in the JFT in the last 12 months without recourse to the handicap.
The biggest surprise, and closest score, result of the day saw Division 3 leaders Almondbury Lib beating Division 1 team Milnsbridge BC by 57-55 where the 12-point handicap advantage proved decisive. The other results went as expected with Marsh United 'A', Clayton West, Golcar C&BC and Brockholes 'A' all progressing through to the Quarter-Finals.
