Veterans League
The Veterans League Management Committee have decided to introduce a change of format for the Over-70s Pairs KO for the 2025 competition. This will be a drawn pairs format with bowlers making individual entries before a random draw is undertaken.
The assumption is that there will be as many entries from the 10-Man League Division 1 and 2 teams as the other 6 divisions. The random draw will then match a Division 1 or 2 bowler with a bowler from Division 3,4 or 5 of the 10-Man League or any of the 6-Man League teams.
Last year there were 21 pairs entries (42 bowlers) for the Over-70's Pairs KO competition which was two less than the 23 who contested the 2023 competition and then there were 20 entries in the 2022 version. The closing date for the Over-70's Pairs KO is Wednesday 23rd July. The opening rounds take place on 1 August with Finals Day being 14 August.
Entry costs this year have been increased for all the Veterans League competitions. The single bowler competitions have all been increased from £2.50 to £4.00. The two Pairs KO competitions have been increased from £2.50 per bowler to £4.00 per bowler or £8 per pair.
Could be interesting. Good to see the Committee are prepared to try different things
