Winter League
Thursday was the final day of the Division 5 season at Netherton Cons and three presentations were made before the start of matches.
Netherton Cons have sponsored two new trophies and donated them to the Winter League.
The new Netherton Cons Cup becomes an annual award for the Division 5 Champions and Slaithwaite are the first recipients of that after their success this year. Then the Top Bowler is recognised by the presentation of the new Netherton Greenkeeper Cup which was also collected by Slaithwaite captain Chris Sykes.
There was also a presentation by the club of bunches of flowers to the six ladies who provide a full catering service each matchday and they are captured in the photograph below . Another bunch of flowers went to a 7th lady not present who does much of the cake-making which has become such a feature of the menu at Netherton. Well done ladies your efforts are fully appreciated by a grateful gathering of bowlers every Thursday.
