R.I.P. David Walls

Rest in Peace

Brockholes' bowler David Walls passed away on 28 December 2023 in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. David had been a long-standing member of the Brockholes club, was well known on the local bowling circuit and last bowled in the Huddersfield Winter League last season. David hadn't bowled at all during the 2023 summer season. He had previously bowled for Brockholes in the Huddersfield League as well as in the Dearne & Don League, Colne Valley Floodlit League and the Huddersfield Works League with A.U.S. Limited.

Both David and his wife Janice bowled for the Brockholes A team last season in the Winter League and were key members of the team that won the Division 3 title. It was such a good season for David that he came out as the Top Bowler of the 62 bowlers who bowled in that Division and won the Treasurer's Trophy as a result. He is seen above (right) receiving his trophy from the Winter League Chairman, Mike Ralph, at the End-of-Season Party at Lindley Liberal Club.
