Rest in Peace
Sorry to learn of the passing of Longwood bowler Ian Gledhill. Especially sad news for Longwood in particular and bowling in general. A much under-rated bowler and popular bowler who was a pleasure to play against. A staunch supporter of the bowling club along with his wife June and both served for a number of years on the club's Management Committee.
The formal funeral notice from The Examiner follows below.
Ian GLEDHILL On 26th September, aged 74, after a short illness, Ian passed away with his loving family by his side. Beloved and loving husband of Jùne, adored dad of Ruth and Anne, and father-in-law of Paul and Dave. Devoted and proud grandad of Caitlin, Georgia, Isabelle and Nancy. Dearly loved brother of Andrea and much-loved brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.
The funeral service will be held at Huddersfield Crematorium on Tuesday 22nd October at 11.15am.
Family flowers only please. Donations may be given to the Specialist Palliative Care Fund for which a donation box will be available at the crematorium.
