R.I.P. Mick Armitage

Rest in Peace

Hanging Heaton bowler Mick Armitage (aged 72) passed away unexpectedly on 1 November. He was found at the Hanging Heaton bowling club where he had been doing some work on the green. The picture below shows Mick receiving the Leonard Tracey Cup from the Winter League Chairman, Mike Ralph, as captain of the Hanging Heaton team on winning the Division 3 title last season.

Mick was a major player for the successful Flying Horse team and West Riding Inter-District bowler as well as a County bowler having first represented Yorkshire in 1989. He has won multiple competitions over his bowling life and will be greatly missed on and off the green.
