R.I.P. Milko Pejica

R.I.P. Milko (Mick) Pejica

Very sorry to tell you that Milko (Mick) Pejica sadly passed away on the 9th March at home, peacefully.


The photo alongside was taken from a group photo below of the four semi-finalists in the 1986 Barker Sports Easter Handicap at Meltham. Milko beat Barry Evans from Horbury coming from 10-4 down to take the title 21-18 and collect the trophy and the £125 prize money.


Milko came from Yugoslavia in 1948 and played football for Bangor City before moving to Huddersfield where he played in the local leagues for KS Silesia. At the time of his success in the Easter Handicap he was bowling for Crosland Moor Liberal Club and later on he went to bowl for Netherton in the Veterans League.


Milko aged 94 years of Netherton, beloved husband of the late Jennifer, much loved dad of Mark, Andrew & John. The funeral service will take place on Thursday 8th April, 10.45am at Huddersfield Crematorium.
