Sad to report the passing on 1 April of Trevor Higginbotham aged 78 a previous Secretary of the Huddersfield & District Bowling Association from 1988 to 1995. The funeral service will be held at Huddersfield Crematorium on Monday 17th April at 10.30am.
Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of information about Trevor other than he was a member of the two Golcar bowling clubs, Golcar Liberal Club and also Golcar Cricket & Bowling Club where he played most of the time. If anyone would like to add any additional bowling-related information by using the Comments facility below then that would be appreciated.
It is timely to add the funeral arrangements for Allan Dobson who passed away on 27 March as previously reported on this website. Allan was a former President of the Veterans League and long-standing member of Kirkheaton C&BC. Unfortunately the funeral has been arranged for a Tuesday afternoon which clashes with the Veterans League fixtures which may divide the loyalties and availability of some bowlers. The two fixtures involving Kirkheaton C&BC teams on that date have already been postponed with new dates to be confirmed.
The service will be held at Huddersfield Crematorium on Tuesday 18th April, at 2:45pm. Family flowers only please, but donations may be given to Myeloma UK and Kirkwood Hospice, a plate will be provided after the service. Any enquiries to Highfield Funeral Service Tel: 01484 428243
