Recreation Club 'B' team withdraws from League

Winter League

The Huddersfield Recreation Club 'B' team has withdrawn from the Milnsbridge Division of the League due to concerns among team members about their personal safety. The team didn't play their last game before the lockdown as a number of their team members had health concerns and those concerns haven't abated over the lockdown period.

All teams had been asked to check with their team bowlers about their availability to bowl assuming that the lockdown is to be lifted on 2 December. It is only natural that bowlers have concerns and each bowler's circumstances will be different and only they can make that decision. All teams have now responded to that request and 13 are committed to completing the season with the Recreation Club the only casualty. We are currently in discussions with a replacement team to take on the outstanding fixtures of the HRC 'B' team.

With Lockdown2 due to conclude on Wednesday 2 December we are hopeful that we can resume fixtures in the Winter League from Thursday 3 December. Plans are now in place to catch-up with the lost fixtures with four extra Thursday sets of fixtures arranged to accommodate the four Tuesdays lost in Lockdown2. The revised fixture programme is now available on our Bowlsnet pages.
