Winter League
The heavy snowfall of Monday 18th/Tuesday 19th November lingered all week and hit the Winter League fixture programme considerably. This was the biggest impact to the Winter League fixtures that we have ever experienced over the 5-years of our existence.
So here follows a quick round-up of what impact there was and all the arrangements for recovering the lost matches. All these changes are included on our Bowlsnet pages.
Division 1 at Milnsbridge Lost fixtures scheduled for Wednesday 20 November and these have now been rearranged for Monday 9 December.
Division 2 at Cowcliffe Lost fixtures originally scheduled for Tuesday 19 November were completed on Wednesday 27 November.
Division 3 at Springwood
Lost fixtures scheduled for Wednesday 20 November and rearranged for Friday 22 November when they were postponed once again. Rescheduled and played on Friday 29 November with one outstanding game to be played. In the Lowerhouses B v Thorpe Green C match the two singles games were completed successfully but team-raising difficulties resulted in the pairs game taking place today 2 December at 10.30am.
Division 4 at Primrose Hill Lib With a Monday playing date, the Division 3 programme avoided the bad weather altogether and completed all their fixtures as scheduled.
Division 5 at Lindley Lib Lost fixtures scheduled for Wednesday 20 November have been rearranged for today, Monday 2 December.
Division 6 at Netherton Con Lost fixtures originally scheduled for Thursday 21 November were rearranged for, and played on, Tuesday 26 November.
Division 7 at Huddersfield RUFC Lost fixtures to the snow scheduled for Thursday 21 November have been added on to the end of the season and will be played on Thursday 30 January. The fixtures lost due to a frozen green on Thursday 28 November have still to be rearranged. Division 8 at Lockwood Con Lost fixtures originally scheduled for Tuesday 19 November have now been added to the end-of-the-season and will be played on Tuesday 4 February 2025.
