Winter League
A misty day wherever you went yesterday and Springwood was not exempt from the gloomy weather although it was mild and it did stay dry.
Four very tight matches this week in Division 3 with one of them producing the very rare 5-3 scoreline. That was the outcome of the Lowerhouses B v Springwood A fixture with a 54-54 aggregate draw so each claiming a point to add to the 4-2 split on game scores. The other three matches were also very close with none of them breaching the 6-points aggregate score gap between the teams. Adding to the 54-54 draw we had 55-60, 49-45 and 55-61.
First wins of the season for any Lockwood Con team, came from the club's A team who beat New Mill B 6-2. Yet there were second victories for Denby Dale and Lowerhouses B to put them into the prime positions at this early stage of the season. There is never a bad time to go top and both teams feature strongly at present.
Brockholes A and Huddersfield Recreation Club A are the two teams in the division still waiting to record their first wins of the season. That will come to fruition for one of the teams next week as they meet each other next Wednesday.
