Winter League
New Mill B bowler Stuart Greaves won the 4th holding of the Winter Cup when beating Clayton West bowler, Tim Poulter, 21-17 on a glorious day at Netherton. Winter Cup is a bit of a misnomer as the sun shone like it never did right through the Winter League season but what a final day it meant for a good gathering of spectators and supporters.
Stuart played very well especially in the final against Tim Poulter where both players took turns to lead up to 11-11 when Stuart found a mark along one edge of the green. Tim found this difficult to master and when he did eventually get the jack he immediately sent it off to pass the initiative back to Stuart who ran out a good winner.
This was a second consecutive title win for a Division 3 bowler, replicating Julie Mallinson's achievement last year.
