Veterans League
The Sub-Team KO is for teams in the Veterans 10-Man League who finished outside of the top 32 teams in the final league tables of last season. Teams are handicap rated based on their final finishing position last season. This year the competition started with 28 teams in contention and we are now down to the last two who play off for the title this Thursday at Broad Oak with a 1.30pm start time.
All bowlers are reminded that all Veterans League Finals are subject to the BCGBA dress code. This means that bowlers should wear black trousers or black tailored shorts and collared shirts with club polo shirts encouraged.
It is the Division 5 leaders, Netherton Con B, who have a 23-points handicap start over Lindley Lib B who sit in 5th place in Division 3 with 19 places between the teams. Both teams have won 4 ties to progress through to the Final.
Recent results suggest that the Netherton team are in a better run of form having won their last 5 league matches. Whereas the Lindley team have lost 2 of their last 3 fixtures albeit they were both against the top two teams in their division, Elland WMC and Denby Dale. Is the 23-points start sufficient to make up for the difference in status? Thursday will give us the answer so good luck to both teams and enjoy your day.
