Memories
The recent adverse weather reminded Barry Tinker of the reputation The Griffin Club has of never closing down and never giving in to the weather for their Sunday competitions. This extended to bringing in the heavy machines to clear the green for the weekly dose of competitive bowling. I am grateful to Barry for this photo and report from the Winter of 2009/10.
Although the recent snowscene has challenged the current generation of die-hard members they still bowled in last Sunday's competition. Some played on the half of the green that had been cleared whilst others played on the other half which was still covered in snow. No snowplough in sight.
