A new inter-club trophy will be contested for the first time on Monday in a two-legged two-season team game to be played. The clubs involved being Huddersfield RUFC and Kirkheaton Cons who will play 6 games of pairs on the Rugby Club green starting at 10.30am.
The return leg will be played in April at Kirkheaton Con to provide a two-season - Winter & Spring - angle to the new competition.
Rules are probably flexible or non-existent with the make-up of the teams dependent on who turns up on the matchdays with the possibility of players featuring for the opposing team.
The whole idea behind the excuse of a competition is to raise money for the Kirkwood Hospice and a trophy has been donated by Fox Engravers to go to the eventual winners to bring some semblance of order to proceedings.
