The youngest C-of-C Part 2

Memories

Earlier today we posted a report on the youngest ever Champion-of-Champions winner with the jury still out on whether it was 19-years-old Richard Priestley in 1986 or a late claim from Paul Rangeley that the 1975 winner, Gary Leighton was only 15-years-old at that time.

That alerted Alan Brown to search through his memorabilia to come up with some documentary evidence to support the Gary Leighton option. This evidence coming in the form of a cutting from a 1976 Huddersfield Examiner reproduced below. The jury is assembling to make their decision unless some further evidence comes to light in the immediate future.

Thanks to Dave Parkin, Paul Rangeley and Alan Brown for all their contributions. Any more?
