Memories
On Wednesday I challenged you to name this old green from three photographs I had been sent. Those photographs came from Outlane bowler Chris Jepson and he picks up the story by giving you the answer to the challenge.
The photos were of the Hillhouse and Birkby club green and clubhouse. We as a family basically lived there thanks to my parents lol. It wasn't the most fashionable club, but a good close-knit group and a great social club. Unfortunately there aren't that many around now.
Back then, when I was growing up, there were Cowcliffe, Brook Motors, Fartown, 2 x HC&AC and Hillhouse in a small area, not forgetting the Lindley clubs. Everyone knew everyone, great times.

Five correct answers were received and they were from Ken Baxter, David Catherine, Jeff Mellor, Bill Blackburn and Bill Edwards. Plenty of wrong answers as well with a Lindley club being the most frequent wrong guess.
