Pudsey and Thongsbridge were the two Yorkshire teams that qualified for the later stages of the BCGBA World Club Championship. Thongsbridge won their two matches last Sunday to progress to Finals Day which will be held next Sunday at Spen Victoria. They beat Shropshire team Sir John Bayley 144-124 in the opening round and then won all eight games to record a 168-94 win over Haunchwood BC to secure their passage to Finals Day.
Yorkshire Cup winners Pudsey BC set off with a narrow 147-140 win over South Yorkshire team Meersbrook BC before losing out to Shropshire side Castlefields 123-149 to go out of the competition.
The Thongsbridge team line up with Esclusham, Greville Arms, Crossgates BC, Castle Sports, George & Dragon, Houghton and Castlefields for the Grand Final at Spen Victoria next Sunday. The start time is 11.00am on both greens.
