Review of the Division 5 fixtures played at Lindley Lib on Wednesday 27 November
There were three 8-0 scorelines from the Division 5 fixture programme this week with the Elland WMC v Kirkheaton C&BC A clash not expected to be among those whitewash results. The teams were locked together on 16 points at the start of the day but it was the Elland side that came out on top to pass their opponents in the table and claim third place. The Kirkheaton side dropped from 3rd to 5th as they were also overtaken by Milnsbridge C who clocked up a 6-2 win over Paddock I&C.
The other two 8-0 wins were recorded by the top two teams in the table, Lindley Lib C and Jackson Bridge. That made it 5 wins on the bounce for the Lindley Lib C team whilst Jackson Bridge have only lost once all season and that was to the leaders. There are now 10 points between the top two teams and things look very comfortable for the leaders.
The same cannot be said for the bottom two who were both on the wrong end of those whitewash scorlines. Springwood B and Almondbury BC A are in danger of being seriously adrift of the other teams as both continue to search for their first wins of the season.
